However, the important parts of the patches are applied properly. As these Id tags are irrelevant, I would recommend you ignore the failure and compile the patch code. It will work properly. Abreu Sent: Friday, January 20, 2006 6:18 AM To: nwchem-users@emsl.pnl.gov Subject: [NWCHEM] problem with patchs ? Hello all, I was applying the patch from http://www.emsl.pnl.gov/docs/nwchem/support/patches/4.7/intd_2e4c.patch and I have applied the patch before and everything went well. Today I was compiling nwchem for another machine and not having the patch at hand, I decided to download it. To my surprise I got a reject from the patch... patch -p0 < intd_2e4c.patch patching file intd_2e4c.F Hunk #1 FAILED at 1. 1 out of 2 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file intd_2e4c.F.rej The problem seems to be with the CVS Id tag: - c $Id: intd_2e4c.patch,v 1.1 2006/01/12 18:52:11 edo Exp $ + c $Id: intd_2e4c.patch,v 1.1 2006/01/12 18:52:11 edo Exp $ they should be different and one of them should not have the 2006 date ... The original patch has -c $Id: intd_2e4c.F,v 1.20 2004/12/03 22:34:31 bert Exp $ +c $Id: intd_2e4c.F,v 1.20.2.1 2005/07/01 00:02:11 bert Exp $ I am also getting rejects from some other patchs: ======================================================================= patch -p0 < geom_zmat.patch patching file geom_input.F Hunk #1 FAILED at 1. 1 out of 2 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file geom_input.F.rej patching file geom_hnd.F Hunk #1 FAILED at 1. 1 out of 3 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file geom_hnd.F.rej patch -p0 < int_giao_1ega.patch patching file int_giao_1ega.F Hunk #1 FAILED at 1. 1 out of 2 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file int_giao_1ega.F.rej ======================================================================= I didn't tested all of them, but my suspicion is that the *.patch files have 2006 time stamps and that shouldn't be so (in fact I only got some of this problems since the year changed). Is there something I can do other than editing the patch files ? It seems to me that the geom_zmat.patch has some more problems than just the CVS Id tag... Thanks, Paulo E.
