Alice Dohnalkova received The Diatome US First Place award for "Creating 3D reconstruction of cyanobacterium Cyanothece sp. by alignment of serial TEM tomograms from consecutive plastic sections." The award was presented to Alice by the president of the Microscopy Society of America at the Annual meeting in Ft Lauderdale (Aug 2007).
