Directions

Directions to PNNL from the Tri-Cities Airport

To get to the Laboratory from the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, exit south from the airport parking area until you reach Interstate 182, then travel west toward Richland. The drive is approximately 20 minutes.

If you would like to travel through town on your way to the Hanford Site and the Laboratory, take the George Washington Way exit (Exit 5B) immediately after crossing the Columbia River. Continue north on George Washington Way for several miles, then turn left onto Battelle Boulevard.

If you wish to avoid traffic in the city, take the Wellsian Way/Vantage Highway 240 (Exit 4) onto the Bypass Highway. This highway eventually becomes Stevens Drive that heads toward the Hanford Site. Continue on Stevens Drive, then take a right onto Battelle Boulevard.

EMSL Tour

For safety reasons, no open-toed shoes are allowed on the EMSL Tour. The tour is being offered toward the end of the day on August 1.

Internet Connection

For non-PNNL staff, the name of the wireless network that you can use to check your email via the Internet is called "VisitorLAN." You can use your own company laptop (not a personally owned computer) if it has wireless connection.

In your welcome packet, you will find a VisitorLAN username and password. Please follow the instructions below to access VisitorLAN. Please note that VisitorLAN is not a secured network and your privacy is not guaranteed. If you have any problems with logging on, please contact Toni Quackenbush or the EMSL Front Desk (see Points of Contact).

Logging on from computers connected to VisitorLAN

  1. Launch a web browser; you will be redirected to PNNL's VisitorLAN log-on page.
  2. Type in your "Username" and "Password."
  3. Mark the "I Agree" radio button.
  4. Click the "Logon User" button.
  5. This will open another browser window to a VisitorLAN "Logoff" Page, which verifies that you are logged in. Minimize this page; you will use it later to logoff.
  6. You may now use VisitorLAN.
  7. When you are finished, simply go back to the minimized "VisitorLAN Logoff" page, and click the Log off button.

Note: If you get disconnected and the log-on page returns, simply log-on again.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located just off the west end of the Lobby. Locations of these and other restrooms in EMSL are shown in the map provided in this booklet.

Telephones

A telephone is available for use in the EMSL Lobby, directly across from the Front Desk.
